Zach Britton, Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Zach has over 23 years experience in the Internet and publishing industries and has developed a profound understanding of emerging Internet trends and opportunities. Under Zach’s vision and leadership, Front Porch has created a valuable suite of technologies and solutions for Internet providers and other partners in the online industry. He has continually driven new industry models and grown Front Porch’s leadership position based on global market share, profitability, technology, and partnerships.

Zach was previously the CEO of International Business Simulations, a firm specializing in executive education tools. He was instrumental in the development of the first Internet-based, business simulation training program, IB SIM, successfully used in corporations and graduate schools worldwide, including Harvard University and UCLA.

Zach also built, managed and sold his own regional ISP and community portal, and both enjoyed dynamic growth and sustained profitability under his leadership. Zach is a recognized author and speaker on issues related to the Internet, online safety, and online advertising. Zach holds a Masters Degree in International Business from the University of California at San Diego.


Derek Maxson, Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Maxson oversees the strategy for technology development and partnerships driving Front Porch solutions for many types of network installations and applications. His business and technical expertise and visionary insights have enabled Front Porch to continually bring ISPs multiple new streams of revenue. He is responsible for the ongoing development of the PorchLightTM product line, deployed in thousands of locations in 33 countries.

Mr. Maxson co-authored Front Porch’s cornerstone patent on content personalization in 1998. He has been a speaker at industry events and participates in various associations in the cable, telco and wireless markets. Outside of work, Derek likes to play basketball, mountain bike and play guitar. He lives with his wife and three daughters in central California.


Jim Owen, Chief Operating Officer
Jim has been instrumental in Front Porch’s growth and success since 1999. He oversees Front Porch’s corporate-wide teams and programs, as well as technical support and all management systems and data center operations. Jim brings nearly 20 years of solid operational and project management experience to Front Porch. Previously employed by the military and as a consultant to Bell Atlantic (Verizon), Jim excelled in various management and leadership roles.

Jim helped lead Bell Atlantic’s successful ADSL deployment into more than 1,000 central offices in one year. Jim has also served as a United States Army Officer on active duty, in the reserves, and in the California National Guard. His duties ranged from leading attack helicopters in direct combat to planning division-level operations for over 12,000 soldiers. Jim holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of California at Davis.


Raul Vaughn, Vice President, Asia and Emerging Markets
Raul has held several executive positions with Front Porch since 2000. His sales and marketing efforts in Asia and the Americas have helped Front Porch expand its footprint and leadership position in many countries and markets worldwide. Prior to joining Front Porch, Raul was Trade Director and Export Manager at Price Club and Costco Wholesale and played a key role in establishing their presence in Korea, Taiwan and Japan.

Raul has a Masters degree in International Management from UC San Diego and is a graduate of UC Davis where he studied International Economics. Raul is also a graduate of the Defense Language Institute and attended two prestigious Asian Universities on scholarship.


Matt Yerington, Vice President Sales, Marketing, Mobile
Matt oversees Front Porch’s sales teams in the Americas and Australia; he also manages the company’s global professional services, sales operations and marketing teams. At Front Porch, Matt has created many innovative programs that helped launch major new markets for the company. Matt has over 20 years of sales and marketing success, with experience managing product marketing, new product development, customer service, technical support, and inside and outside sales teams.

Prior to joining Front Porch, Matt held marketing and senior sales positions with Dun & Bradstreet. He worked strategic opportunities with many Silicon Valley stars and was consistently recognized as one of D&B’s top producers. As Vice President of Ecommerce, reporting to the President of Dun & Bradstreet, he helped launch many of D&B’s pioneering ecommerce data offerings. Prior to D&B, Matt was with AT&T.
